Welcome to my wine blog. There are many blogs out there that offer advice that is full of falsehoods or half truths. Here I will try to break the mold and give interesting, fun and useful info that takes the snobbery out of wine and simply allows for you to sit back, relax and enjoy wine.
A little about me...
I own a boutique wine shop in White Plains, NY called LeVino Wine Merchants. While everyone else is competing for the white zin or bulk Chardonnay business, I try to look for unique and delicious items that keep my customers coming back, bucking the trend for the big brands and focusing on high-value, small production wines. Westchester Magazine twice named my store a "Best of Westchester" award winner so maybe I'm doing something right.
I have studied wine for years both through self study and through wine courses. I am a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) through the Society of Wine Educators. Classrooms are great for learning concepts, but to truly appreciate wine you need to open a bottle and partake in the abundance of aromas, flavors and textures wine offers.
In 2006 I started writing a regular wine column for the White Plains Times, a local paper. I remained the wine columnist there until the paper went out of business in 2011. I can now continue my love for wine and writing here.
I will post many of my articles and offer (hopefully) fresh insights into wine. And I want to hear from you too. So contact me below to tell me to love what I am saying or even to tell me I'm full of it and have no idea what I'm talking about.
And I'd love for you to visit our store web site as well: www.levinowine.com
Cheers,
Stu Levine
